Budgeture is built by one person. Email goes straight to me, and replies come from a real person — usually within a day or two.

Contact

For questions, bug reports, feature requests, or anything else: suggestions@budgeture.com.

Availability

Budgeture is a desktop program in active development. There is no public download yet. Email suggestions@budgeture.com and I will let you know when it is ready.

Common questions

Where is my data stored?

Locally, on your own computer. Nothing is sent to a Budgeture server — there is no Budgeture server, and there is no account to create.

How do I enable Live Prices for stocks and crypto?

Settings → Live Prices. When on, Budgeture sends only the ticker symbol to Yahoo Finance to fetch current prices. No personal identifier, account info, or balances are sent. The feature is off by default.

How do I attach a receipt to a transaction?

Open a transaction and attach an image. Receipt images are stored locally on your computer, alongside the rest of your data — never uploaded to us.

How do I lock the app?

Settings → App Lock. When on, Budgeture requires authentication before it will open. Your operating system handles the check; Budgeture never sees your biometric data.

How do I use Budgeture with Claude Desktop?

Budgeture includes an optional Model Context Protocol (MCP) server so Claude Desktop can read or modify your Budgeture data when you ask it to. Both Read tools and Write tools are off by default. Enable them in Settings → Claude Desktop. Write tools show a confirmation sheet inside Budgeture before any change is applied. See the privacy policy for details on what is and isn't sent.

Why don't you connect to my bank?

On purpose. Budgeture has no bank integrations, no aggregator SDKs, and no third-party data connections. The tradeoff is manual entry; the benefit is that your credentials and balances never touch anyone else's servers.
